Bury Kirkland Ferri is a team of skilled designers based in Hobart, Tasmania.

Founders of the former Bury and Kirkland, acclaimed local designers Caroline Cumberbatch and Rebecca Kirkland shared an accomplished fifteen year collaboration before recently partnering with the talented Claire Ferri to form the new design powerhouse of Bury Kirkland Ferri.

With over 40 years combined experience to draw from, BKF clients can expect a first class design solution that is impeccably crafted to suit each individual project, be it large or small.

Taking pride in their ability to listen and interpret their client’s needs and aspirations they create innovative, functional and authentic spaces with a texturally rich palette.
Engaging with local artisans and craftspeople where possible, their aesthetic often includes custom joinery and bespoke furniture design.

Bury Kirkland Ferri’s current body of work spans the residential, retail, hospitality, health, education, business and commercial sectors.

Their work has been published in design and lifestyle media, blogs and magazines.

Caroline Cumberbatch is one of the founding partners of Bury Kirkland Ferri.
She commenced her career at The Design and Decoration Building in Pimlico, London. Her enthusiasm for design and the way in which interior spaces can influence how we feel has strengthened over her 20 plus years in the industry.

Alongside a pragmatic approach, the intent to uncover an aesthetic that reflects a client’s personality underpins every interaction. Generous with her time, Caroline loves to develop and uncover an interior concept that is both beautiful and a true expression of its inhabitants.

She draws on her own experiences as well as those of her clients to deliver spaces that are gorgeous to live in and draw people together.

Within the team, Caroline is an enthusiastic member and has been a regular design columnist. She is also a long time admirer of beautiful things.

In her spare time, you will most likely find Caroline spending time with her family, in particular keeping up with her 4 year old son and studying law.

Rebecca is one of the founding partners of Bury Kirkland Ferri and her design ethos encapsulates the tried and true design testament of form follows function.

When creating, Rebecca’s approach to a design concept stems from her client and practicality which is then adorned and layered with her appreciation of quality finishes, providing a collaborative result of visually satisfying form and function.

Rebecca’s intuitive sense and recognition of how spaces best work and flow, sits harmoniously alongside her belief that spaces hold a power and responsibility for how people feel, work and play. By working and engaging with her clients Rebecca’s design outcomes reflect their individuality and persona.

Rebecca’s inspiration derives from her clients, the natural world around her, travels, a busy family life and a keen and learned eye for everything beautiful.
